Telecommunication networks are continually evolving and are deeply impacted by new technologies such as Software Defined Networking (SDN), Software Defined Wireless Networking (SDWN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) paradigms. Research and solutions that explore new concepts, however, need to be tested in controlled environments, provide reliable results, and preferably have portability to physical network infrastructures. Thus, seeking to fill an important gap about experimenting with projects and research on wireless networks, the Mininet-WiFi emulator was developed.
