They will undoubtedly appreciate the honesty, humor and warmth of the text as well as the funny and adorable cartoon illustrations. It's a reassuring tale with characters who are good and supportive friends, who have a good teacher to help them reach resolution. As for me, I laughed out loud in recognition of my own foibles and those I experienced as a child, as well as at some of the in-jokes, such as the humorous titles of the books the characters are reading. Kids will enjoy being in on the jokes as well, as they learn the four steps easily duplicatable, non-preachy suggestions of how to be a better communicator and friend.
