Nelson, Bill: - Bill Nelson was the 14th NASA administrator, leading the space agency from May 3, 2021, to January 20, 2025. A fifth-generation Floridian, Nelson represented the state for 18 years in the US Senate and for 12 years in the US House of Representatives. Nelson served as chairman of the Subcommittees on Science and Space in both the Senate and the House. In 1986, he trained and flew with the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia on mission STS-61C, the 24th flight of the Space Shuttle program.
